I worked in Visual Studio Code to customise our Ren'py projects GUI implementation using python. I worked with the base scripts for options, screens and gui, as well as on custom screens such as our gallery, to customise and fine-tune our project.

 

From creating a separate state using conditionals for the main_menu vs game_menu layouts, allowing our title screen splash art to take centre stage by creating a bottom centred hbox layout. To adding in accessibility options to the options page as a sub-menu tab, and making adjustments to the layout of various screens, and layouts for our in-game text and choice boxes, and the text within them, as well as the quick menu itself. I also created a custom blinking animation through code with alphas that plays after the project's into cutscene animation.

After demo release, I continued to work on refining the project, changing and unifying text scalings throughout our menus, adjusting layouts for the menu elements. I also customised our gallery screen to give it the same visual details as our save/load screen with frames around the thumbnails, before also adding in an additional sub-menu system to allow for categorisation of the unlockable key art, CG's and animations throughout the game.
